Mika Ben was born Michael Benjamin on June 27th at L’Hopital Canape-Vert. He was raised by his father, Lionel Benjamin, a musician and teacher, and his mother, Roseline Dupoux Benjamin, a psychologist, in the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince along with his 2 older siblings, Melodie Benjamin and Lionel Benjamin Jr., his current manager.
Mika Ben attended Peter Pan Kindergarten, Cours Prives Colette Millet (CPCM) for elementary school, and Saint-Louis de Gonzague Delmas for high school. After graduating high school, Mika Ben left Haiti at the age of 18 with the intent to pursue a college education in Montreal, Canada. But his love of music turned him in into Mika Ben.
